Care of natural fabrics

Buying natural and mixed fabrics for sewing beautiful clothes, it is important to remember that you can keep its attractive appearance only if you take care of it properly.

LENGTH AND COTTON

Flax and cotton are the most attractive fabrics for making summer clothes. They combine strength, lightness and hygroscopicity. Thus, single-color products made of linen and cotton should be washed with the addition of universal detergents at a temperature of 60 ° C. Such a washing intensity is necessary in order to eliminate any degree of contamination. If the fabric from which the thing is made, two-, three-color or variegated, then choose a gentle washing mode and a lowered temperature (mode flax / cotton, 40C). The same applies to tissues that have undergone the procedure of processing (treatment for durability, water repellency), it is better to wash them at 40C.

The use of light whitening agents is acceptable when washing single-colored flax and cotton. For colored fabrics, it is better to use special detergents or powders without the addition of bleach. It should be borne in mind that products made of cotton and linen with machine washing can give a small shrinkage.

Dry natural clothes made of cotton and linen is better in a natural way: do not wring out the fabric, allow it to dry, and then iron it with steaming in a delicate mode. If you dry linen products in machine drying, then ironing them will need to be using a steamer and a well-heated iron. Be careful with the trim elements, since they can be sensitive to high temperature or bleaching agents. These things should be washed in special detergents.

WOOL, VISCOSE AND SILK

Delicate fabrics have a special, delicate structure of fibers, so care for them should be careful. Products made of viscose, wool and silk are washed in soft detergents or in powders for thin fabrics at a water temperature of 30 ° C. Things made of wool and viscose can be washed in a car or manually. Silk fabrics are not subject to (!) Machine wash, they are handled exclusively by hand. To preserve the overall pattern of fabric and fiber structure, woolen, silk and viscose things are not twisted and squeezed, washed and rinsed in a large volume of water.

After the thing of wool, silk or viscose is rinsed, it is gently rolled into a soft towel, and then dried on a dry towel in a horizontal position. The structure of these tissues is such that they are not dried near the radiators or directly on them. Not suitable for drying delicate things machine drying or solar loggia (the fabric just does not stand the aggressive impact, can lose its properties and colors).

Separately, it should be said about things from silk. They can be placed in a large container of water, first dilute in water a quarter of a glass of vinegar. We leave the silk thing in the solution for an hour, then shake the water and gently roll the clothes into the towel.

To wool woolen, viscose and silk things follows with moisturizing, in the "wool" or "silk" mode. You can also use a damp cloth for ironing named fabrics. Silk products should be ironed slightly damp, and silk-tuss completely dried. While ironing silk, you can not use a spray gun, as the fabric will form a stain.

Synthetic fabrics

POLYESTER AND POLYAMIDE

Things made of polyester and polyamide can be washed in a car at a temperature of 40C. Clothing made of these fabrics can not be washed in hot water and squeezed out at high speed in a machine or centrifuge. During intensive washing and wringing, creases appear on the tissues, which will be noticeable even after ironing. White polyester fabrics can be washed with the use of universal detergents, color synthetic - special powders, the composition of which is suitable for synthetic fabrics.

When washing polyester and polyamide, you can not add various softening or bleaching agents, otherwise the fabrics may lose their properties and attractive appearance. Smoothing synthetic things is necessary in the mode of the thermoregulator "silk" or through a damp cloth. The use of the steamer is detrimental to these types of tissues.
